Last Wednesday, July 10, the Community Hall at the Pumapungo Museum was the setting for a highly enriching event organized under the Conversatorios’24 project. The CPM and PREIT-tour groups came together for a session marked by its interdisciplinary nature and the depth of the topics discussed. 🤝✨
During the event, critical and multidimensional issues related to Heritage, Leisure, and Tourism were addressed. The discussion underscored the imperative need for close collaboration to build a city planned and designed by and for its citizens. The importance of participatory urban planning was a recurring theme, emphasizing the necessity of integrating the community's voices into Cuenca's development. 🏙️👥
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the project "Heritage, Leisure, and Tourism: Analysis of Consensus and Disputes Over the Use and Enjoyment of Public Spaces in the Historic Center of Cuenca, Ecuador." This project aims to unravel the dynamics and tensions surrounding the use of public spaces in Cuenca's historic center, offering a critical and constructive look at how these spaces can best serve the community. 🌟
The session provided a rich platform for exchanging ideas and building joint strategies that promise to enhance Cuenca's urban and tourism development. The event concluded with a strong commitment from all participants to continue working together towards a more inclusive and sustainable future for the city.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this vital conversation!
