This week we have been invited to the Radio Programme Vista Económica carried out by the Universidad Nacional de Loja in cooperation with the Corporación Juventud Independiente. The programme aimed to talk about tourism and its implications in the current times, as well as about the project Fostering a platform for research-based education to support sustainable development through Tourism in the Cajas Massif Biosphere Area (CMBA), developed by the University of Cuenca and KU Leuven with the support of the VLIRUOS programme.
The programme was hosted by Roberto Erazo and Leonardo Togra; on behalf of PREIT-tour Freddy Espinoza was present. First, topics related to tourism as a means of development were discussed. Likewise, the lack of cooperation and associativity in the tourism industry in Ecuador was exposed. Also, the importance of education, research and links with the community to strengthen development processes in the territory.
Furthermore, certain general recommendations related to the problems faced by the tourism sector in these times of pandemic were addressed. Finally, we congratulate this space created to expose different topics. This programme is broadcast every Thursday at 15h00 on 98.5 FM in the city of Loja. Also, from 19h30 it is broadcast on the social networks of the organising institutions (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube).
