Tourism operation based on research
Tourism operation students from the Faculty of Hospitality Sciences under the direction of lecturer Lourdes Sánchez are working on the development of tourism packages in the Macizo del Cajas Biosphere Area.
They have developed a fictitious travel agency (Pristine Tours) to carry out an exercise in the creation of packages considering aspects such as budget, costing, routes, destinations, among others. Before this, they have visited the PREIT-tour pilot projects to develop an innovative experience that can be taken to a real level. Besides, the students have been looking for sponsors for this event to launch the tourism offer. Likewise, an incentive has been generated for their efforts. This means that the best tour will go through a validation stage by the final semester students of the tourism course.
We hope that this experience anchored in research-based learning will serve to produce well-rounded professionals in the tourism field.
