Tourism reactivation through capacity building of local stakeholders in the Baños parish
From the research project Fostering a platform for research-based education to support sustainable development through Tourism in the Cajas Massif Biosphere Area (CMBA), an initiative has been derived from a community outreach project called Strengthening tourism services through training in the area of hospitality sciences to tourism servers in the parish of Baños, Cuenca, Ecuador.
So, today has generated a meeting between the GAD of Baños, PREIT-tour and the proponents of the initiative of the Faculty of Hospitality Sciences of the University of Cuenca to review details of the project, as well as the obligations of each of the parties. The training is expected to reach approximately 50 tourism servers. In addition, it aims to strengthen capacities from a practical approach in areas such as gastronomy, good practices, biosafety, English, tourist service, etc.
Therefore, we hope that this project will help reactivate tourism by strengthening the capacities of its stakeholders.
