Last week, an interdisciplinary team of students from the University of Cuenca’s Tourism, Gastronomy, and Psychology programs began their community engagement internships with an inspiring project: "Strengthening the Wellbeing of Female Foreign Students at the University of Cuenca Living Alone, Through Tourism and Gastronomic Experiences" 🌄🍲.
The project, which aims to provide comprehensive support and enhance the emotional wellbeing of these women, was warmly received last week when it was presented at the Community Engagement Advisory Council. During this session, students learned about the project’s objectives, activities, and expectations, fostering a productive dialogue between faculty and students 💬👥.
This initiative seeks to connect local tourism and gastronomy with emotional wellbeing by offering unique experiences that allow the students to explore their surroundings, connect with local culture, and strengthen their mental health in the process 💪✨. The project not only aims to improve the quality of life for these students but also to strengthen ties with the Cuenca community through meaningful, enriching activities.
We’re confident this experience will be transformative for both the participants and the community! 💖
