Successful completion of co-creation workshops on public space use

🗓️ Cuenca became the epicenter of citizen engagement on November 20, 22, and 23 with the Co-Creation Workshops focused on guidelines for the use and enjoyment of public spaces. Part of the project "Cultural Heritage, Leisure, and Tourism: An Analysis of Consensus and Disputes Over the Use and Enjoyment of Public Space in Cuenca's Historic Center, Ecuador," these events made a positive impact on the community. 🌍💡


📍 Iconic Spaces, Transformative IdeasEach session took place in a landmark location in the Historic Center:

🌳 November 20: Parque San Sebastián

🏛️ November 22: Parque Calderón

🕊️ November 23: Plazoleta El Vado




👥 Active Participation and CommitmentWith the attendance of citizens, researchers, cultural managers, and local authorities, the workshops fostered an enriching dialogue on how to balance the needs of heritage conservation, leisure, and tourism. The co-creation dynamics enabled participants to share their ideas and concerns, building consensus on the management of public spaces. 💬✨

💬 "These workshops are a testament to how the community can build consensus to preserve our heritage while also enjoying it," highlighted a researcher representative from the World Heritage City (CPM) research group at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.
